Statistics
Understanding your climbing progress through data visualisation.
Overview
The Statistics screen gives you insights into your climbing journey. See your progress over time, identify strengths and weaknesses, and track your improvement.
Grade Pyramid
The grade pyramid shows the distribution of your sends across grades. A healthy pyramid has more sends at lower grades, tapering to fewer at your highest grades.
Reading Your Pyramid
- Base width — Shows volume at lower grades
- Apex — Your maximum grade
- Shape — Ideally pyramidal, not top-heavy
A top-heavy pyramid (many sends at high grades, few at lower grades) might indicate you're not building a solid foundation. Consider adding volume at lower grades.
Filtering the Pyramid
You can filter your pyramid by:
- Time period (last month, year, all time)
- Discipline (bouldering, sport, trad)
- Location (outdoor only, specific crag)
Success Rate
Track your success rate (sends vs. total routes attempted) across:
- Different grades
- Different disciplines
- Different time periods
A typical success rate varies by grade:
- 2-3 grades below max: 80-90%
- 1-2 grades below max: 50-70%
- Max grade: 20-40%
Session Statistics
See trends in your sessions:
- Sessions per week/month — Are you climbing consistently?
- Average session duration — How long are your sessions?
- Routes per session — Your typical volume
Personal Bests
Track your milestones:
- Hardest send by discipline
- Most routes in a session
- Longest session
- First send at each grade
Time-Based Analysis
Trends
View your progress over time:
- Grade progression graphs
- Volume trends (routes/week)
- Session frequency
Seasonality
See how your climbing varies by season. Useful for:
- Planning peak performance periods
- Understanding recovery patterns
- Identifying optimal climbing conditions
Tips for Using Statistics
- Don't obsess over numbers — Use stats to guide training, not define your worth
- Look for trends — Single data points matter less than patterns
- Be honest — Inflated grades hurt only you
- Review regularly — Check in monthly to track progress
